The Connection You've Been Seeking
Grief is a normal and natural response to loss experienced through death, illness, caregiving, and trauma. It often results in the loss of security or hope.
Grief may create emotional challenges and strain our ability to cope or adjust.
If you are struggling with grief and loss, Susan can help you to navigate these difficult times and uncomfortable reactions and offer a path forward.
For over 25 years Susan has been guiding those that are grieving and those affected by sudden and traumatic loss, such as accidents, suicide, or homicide.
Susan supports individuals experiencing all types of loss. Although most of her clients seek help for adjustment to death loss, Susan also helps clients with divorce, incarceration, anticipatory loss, life-limiting illness and other transition losses. As a STAR Behavioral Health Provider, Susan has advanced training in supporting grievers that are military-connected.
Susan can assist with the adjustment to difficult circumstances and emotions by providing compassionate listening, offering realistic problem-solving,
and teaching you new coping strategies.
A non-judgmental and collaborative approach to therapy centers on you as the expert of your life with you determining what you wish to gain from our work together.
THE PATH FORWARD
Grief can feel like the detour we did not choose.
Grief and loss rewire our brains and alter our ability to process information. But the challenging effects are reversible. Using the power of neuroplasticity and targeted interventions, we will consider how thoughts affect emotions and behaviors.
Learning new coping strategies may allow feelings of safety, security, and calmness to return and build meaning back into life.
